Sustainability Engineer

David Energy is seeking a Sustainability Engineer to join our growing Commercial & Multifamily team. The Sustainability Engineer will be responsible for assisting the team with green building certification projects, NYC local law compliances, and sustainability reporting for clients

Responsibilities

  • Prepare green building program documentation, such as, but not limited to LEED Existing Buildings/New Construction, Enterprise Green Communities, Energy Star,  WELL Health-Safety Rating
  • Complete site inspections, building surveys and audits to verify green building program requirements
  • Work on NYC local law compliance projects for commercial and multifamily clients (Local Law 84, 33, 97, 88)
  • Review project specifications and design drawings for compliance with certification program requirements
  • Prepare and present analysis, reports, and other documents for internal and/or external clients use
  • Perform research on relevant concepts in sustainability, ESG and green buildings

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum degree: Bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum years of experience: 2+ years work experience in sustainability consulting, green building, or related field
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, good time management and writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated with a desire to learn about the future of sustainability, built environment and clean energy
  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations

Preferred Qualifications 

  • LEED AP and/or WELL AP
  • Basic understanding of LEED and WELL rating systems

  • Base salary range of $70,000-$90,000

  • Hybrid office culture, with team members remote and working from our offices in Brooklyn, New York. For this position, we are looking for a candidate who is located in New York City that can perform site visits and attend client meetings in person.
