
Account Executive – New York
David Energy is a new kind of power company. Traditional retail electricity providers are outdated, opaque, and painful for customers to engage with. We use software to monitor our customers’ real-time energy usage and we aggregate and analyze that data to maximize the value they get from their energy assets (such as battery storage, HVAC, and solar) via participation in energy markets. Our mission is to give energy customers greater transparency and control while creating a cheaper, cleaner, more reliable electricity grid.
We are seeking an Account Executive to join our sales team reporting directly to our VP of Sales. This role is focused on identifying, developing, and converting sales opportunities within the multi-location mid-market segment, including retail, fitness, and food + beverage verticals. The ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is comfortable working within a highly cross-functional team. Responsibilities
- Establish new business opportunities through full-cycle selling to our mid-market customer segment, including prospecting for new leads, conducting outreach, and shepherding prospects through our full sales process
- Establish buying influences, budgets and purchasing criteria for new prospects and effectively advise them on how to think about our product offering
- Independently build and own a pipeline of prospects, including working with our Partner Manager to identify and convert leads from the partner channel, building + leveraging your own network, attending trade shows, and pursuing other lead generation strategies as needed
- Understand our customers’ long-term strategic business needs and develop strong relationships across the customer’s organization to allow for selling of new opportunities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- At least 4 years of B2B sales experience from prospecting to closing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts simply
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly with our pricing and operations teams
- Highly motivated, scrappy individual excited to meet or exceed annual performance expectations
- Based in New York or New Jersey
Preferred Qualifications
- You have existing direct relationships with decision-makers within the mid-market multi-location segment (QSRs, fitness chains, retail chains, grocery chains, etc)
- Either working knowledge of the energy and utility space or the drive needed to quickly learn about the space
- Experience transitioning customer relationships from sales to Customer Success or Account Management after a successful sale a plus

- Base salary range $90,000 – $130,000, not including incentive compensation, plus equity
